Cross Pointe Church is a certified biblical counseling training center through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). Completion of the Foundation's Track satisfies the Phase 1 training requirement of the ACBC certification process.

Our Speakers

Brad Bigney

Brad Bigney is a Certified Biblical Counselor with ACBC and is involved in the counseling ministry at his church. He is a graduate of both Columbia Bible College (B.S. in Biblical Teaching) and Columbia Biblical Seminary (Master of Divinity) in South Carolina.

Brad is the author of Gospel Treason: Betraying the Gospel with Hidden Idols. He has also served as the Lead Pastor of Grace Fellowship Church since January 1996.

Brad and his wife, Vicki, have five wonderful children, which God used to teach him so much.

Randy Patten

Rev Randy Patten is the President of TEAM Focus Ministries, an organization that seeks to increase the discipleship effectiveness of evangelical churches and Christian leaders through the public proclamation of Scripture and private coaching. He is also the Director of Training Emeritus of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), formerly serving as the Executive Director for sixteen years when it was known as the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC).

 

Before his leadership roles with NANC/ACBC, he served 12 years as a Pastor at a local church, followed by 12 years as a pastor to pastors and consultant to churches. He has trained biblical counselors for 40 years, including 24 years at Faith Biblical Counseling Ministries, Lafayette, Indiana. Randy is also a founding board member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition.

 

He was a contributing author to Christ-Centered Biblical Counseling (Harvest House, 2013, 2021), Scripture and Counseling (Zondervan, 2014), and Biblical Counseling and the Church (Zondervan, 2015).

 

Randy and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 51 years, have two adult married children and six grandchildren, and are longtime members of College Park Church, Indianapolis, IN.

Andrew Rogers

Dr Andrew Rogers serves as a Pastor of Ministry Development at Kindred Community Church and as Executive Director of Overseas Instruction in Counseling, a ministry devoted to training biblical counseling trainers worldwide. He has broad experience teaching in various churches, conferences, colleges, and seminaries both in the United States and internationally.

Andrew has earned has a B.S. in Business Administration Marketing from California State University, Fresno; an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from The Master's University; an M.Div. from The Master's Seminary; and a Ph.D. at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a Fellow and Board Member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and is a Council Member of the Biblical Counseling Coalition.

Andrew enjoys the privilege of serving in various churches throughout the United States and recently as a professor at Boyce College in Louisville, KT. Andrew and his wife, Jenny, have been married since 1994 and have four children.

Randy Westerberg

Dr. Randy Westerberg serves as the Senior Pastor at Cross Pointe Church.  He has been our pastor since 1995, when it was Dalbo Baptist Church. He is bi-vocational, with his other profession being chiropractic.  He has been a chiropractor since 1985.

Pastor Westerberg's educational degrees consist of a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern College of Chiropractic (1984), a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Theological Seminary (1997), and a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (2010).  He is also a certified counselor and a Fellow of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC).

Pastor Westerberg has a passion for preaching, teaching , and Biblical counseling. He considers it a tremendous privilege to pastor the wonderful people of Cross Pointe Church. He and his wife, Ginny, have been married since 1987. They have four adult children and twelve grandchildren.

Cubby Westerberg

Cubby Westerberg is the Associate Pastor for Worship and Discipleship at Cross Pointe Church. He leads the worship team, middle and high school youth group, and counseling training ministry. He has his Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts and Literature Education from Northwestern University and his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Cubby is a certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). He and his wife, Sarah, have been married since 2010 and have four children.

Dan Mulder

Dan served as an Associate Pastor of Leadership Development at North Isanti Baptist Church, located in Cambridge, MN. He also routinely offered counseling services to those who attend his church.

Dan has earned a B.S. in Biblical Counseling from Northland International University in Dunbar, Wisconsin, and a Masters of Biblical Counseling from Faith Bible Seminary in Lafayette, Indiana.

Dan and his wife, Selena, have four children and currently reside in Cambridge, MN.

Matt Semler

Matt serves Cross Pointe Church as an Elder and an ACBC-certified biblical counselor. His dedication and servant's heart always sets an example for all our counselors.

Matt has attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, working toward his Master of Divinity. He also owns his own business, installing countertops.

Matt and his wife, Kari, have been married since 2005 and have three children.

Jared Johnson

Jared Johnson is the Administrative Pastor & our Conference Director at Cross Pointe Church. He also works as an EMT for Welia Health EMS and has for 8+ years. He also currently serves in the US Air Force Reserve as a Flight and Operational Medical Technician with the 96th Airlift Squadron (Flying Vikings) out of Minneapolis. Jared has served on two combat support deployments to the Middle East and is currently serving on his third.

He has an AAS Degree in Law Enforcement from Alexandria Technical College, an AAS in Allied Health Science from the Community College of the Air Force, has finished the coursework for an AAS in Nursing from Excelsior College, and is currently working on a Master of Biblical Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jared is also finishing up his ACBC Counselor certification.

Jared and his wife, Laura, currently reside in the Cambridge area, have been married since 2007, and have five children.
